Darcey's Science at Home

Darcey, from Greenlands Primary, has been busy!!

She’s made made lip balm using wax and discovered that there is an exact amount of wax and oil that you must use to ensure that the lip balm is not to lumpy when it hardens.

She also planted tomato seeds inside plastic bags to give them a greenhouse effect and placed in the sun to see how big they grow. She has also put some of the seeds in the dark to see if they still grow.

She has also planted potatoes and garlic and will observe over time how they grow! Wow, Darcey has been busy!

Dissolving Sugar

Isla, from Kirkhill Primary School, has investigated whether the temperature of water affects how sugar dissolves.

Skittles Science

Ana, from Earlham Primary School, has got involved with The Great Science Share using sweets!

What is better than sweets and science. She’s made her very own rainbow using skittles!

Glitter Explosion

Ana, from Earlham Primary, has conducted a science experiment to see what happens when you mix glitter with bicarbonate soda.

You can see from her pictures that it exploded!!

Egg-cellent Experiment

Halle, from Creswick Primary, has conducted an experiment to find out what happens when you put an egg in salt water.

Water & Oil

Evie wanted to find out what happened to oil when water is added. Shefound that oil is denser than water even when it was shook!

She even added a special tablet to see if it would mix but it just made a gas and made bubbles.

Great work Evie!

Sebastian's Super Science

Sebastian, from Bluecoat Primary, has been busy getting up to lots of different science experiments. He looked into what solutions combined create the best reaction and also followed the O-Wings investigation!

Apollo 11... Lift Off!

Yahya, from West Jesmond Primary, decided they wanted to know more about space travel so has researched Apollo 11 and has shared the research with us!
