Designed to get children thinking about shadows, this fun and accessible challenge has some great cross-curricular connections. Once children have explored how shadows are created, they can make links with Design and Technology as they make their own shadow puppets. Bring in themes from English, History or Music as they create their own shadow puppet plays to perform!

Sneaky Shadow can be found within the CREST Star Challenge Collection. Once children have completed at least six one-hour activities from the Collection, they will have earned a Star CREST Award.
CREST is the British Science Association’s education programme, bringing STEM to life for young people. Through hands-on activities, CREST helps pupils spark curiosity, build confidence, unlock potential, develop skills, and gain recognition. All CREST resources are free to download and use. Once they have completed their projects, pupils can receive a CREST Award certificate to celebrate their achievement.
